Rose Cottage

Block Island, Rhode Island

The Rose Cottage (also known as The White House) was a six room inn on Rhode Island's Block Island. Due to decades of neglect and ill conceived additions, this historic structure was beyond rescue and was demolished in the summer of 2009. A new, ten room inn capturing the historic character and charm of its predecessor is under design for this prominent site. While being respectful of the original structure and its historic neighbors, this new structure incorporates twenty-first century construction methods and systems, resulting in an energy efficient, life safety code compliant structure.
