The Gennardo Residence

Tiverton, Rhode Island

Designed as a temporary remodel, this commission required a short-term remodel of an existing structure with the anticipation of future demolition for construction of a new home.

The interim design restructured roofs to meet wind loading for its waterfront location. Roof lines were raised in the living room to enhance panoramic views of the Sakonnet River.

The layout of the existing cramped ranch house was opened up and a new master suite was created in the existing two-car garage. New exterior siding, a new waterside deck, and creation of a front entry porch updated this home on a very limited budget.

Ultimately the owner was so pleased with the transformation that plans have been modified to retain the structure as their long term home.
